The fourth city of Round the World, Shichiken and Ducasse Paris’ tour to seven cities around the world, was Monaco near the south of France.

On October 31, the event was held at Le Louis XV – Alain Ducasse à l’Hôtel de Paris, located in a historic hotel facing the Place du Casino in the heart of Monaco.

This was the first hotel restaurant to be awarded three Michelin stars and the place that made Alain Ducasse a household name.

The following five drinks were prepared on that day, as at the first event.

-       Alain Ducasse Sparkling Sake
-       Sparkling Yama no Kasumi
-       Junmai Daiginjo Kinunoaji
-       Junmai Furinbisan
-       Alain Ducasse Sustainable Spirits

“Alain Ducasse Sparkling Sake has sparkling bubbles and refreshing fruitiness, with slight ocean notes at the end. It’s the perfect drink to start off a meal and stimulate your appetite,” said Executive Chef Emmanuel Pilon.

For the pairing with Shichiken, he aimed to harmonize the Mediterranean palate with the spirit of naturalité and the subtlety of sake.

The Le Louis XV restaurant warmly welcomed guests. It is located in a luxury hotel, but values a less formal reception.

Alain Ducasse also joined the dinner, making it one of the most special nights of the Round the World event.

“Sake is a symbol of traditional craftsmanship and one of the representative drinks of Japanese culture. Just like when we held a collaboration event with Shichiken two years ago, today’s guests seemed to be satisfied with this event too. They enjoyed drinking sake, which they usually don’t have the opportunity to try, and discovering unique combinations and new tastes.”

Pilon seemed to have once again confirmed the possibilities of pairing sake.

The banquet, which realized an excellent marriage of authentic southern French cuisine and sake, came to a successful conclusion.

The next destination is Paris, France.
