Sengafuchi in Ojiragawa Canyon

The Ojiro River is a clear stream originating on Mt. Kaikoma and is one of the best waters in the area, and even selected as one of the 100 best in Japan. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the valley and its many waterfalls, including Sengafuchi, with its emerald green pool (15-minute walk from the parking lot); Jinjya Falls, a three-tiered waterfall that flows down like in a cauldron; and Fudo Falls at the deepest point in the valley.

Mt. Kaikoma Shrine

Mt. Kaikoma Shrine

Mt. Kaikoma Shrine is located at the foot of Mt. Kaikoma, on the banks of the Ojiragawa Canyon, which has been designated as one of the 100 best water sources in Japan. Mt. Kaikoma Shrine was built by worshippers of Mt. Kaikoma about 270 years ago and is dedicated to Ookuninushi no Mikoto. The shrine is said to bring good health, recovery from illness, driving away bad luck, safe driving, family safety, prosperous business, and easy childbirth. The shrine is composed of a main hall, a Marishiten shrine for preventing bad luck, a Ryujin shrine, an ancestral shrine, a Koyotama shrine, and a Kaguraden.

Shichiken sake rice fields

Shichiken sake rice fields

Local rice, local water, and local people are the key to true local sake. Shichiken values connections with the local community: we work with local farmers in Yamanashi to produce top-quality sake rice brands such as Yumesansui and Hitogokochi.
