The third city of Round the World, Shichiken and Ducasse Paris’ tour to seven cities around the world, was Naples, Italy.
On October 29, the event was held at Il Ristorante Alain Ducasse Napoli, with a beautiful view of Mount Vesuvius and the Bay of Naples.

The following five drinks were prepared on that day, as at the first event.
- Alain Ducasse Sparkling Sake
- Sparkling Yama no Kasumi
- Junmai Daiginjo Kinunoaji
- Junmai Furinbisan
- Alain Ducasse Sustainable Spirits

“Very elegant and soft with a mellow and delicate finish, Kinunoaji is a sake for true gourmets to enjoy,” said Executive Chef Alessandro Lucassino.
As for the Alain Ducasse Sparkling Sake, he liked the fine, creamy bubbles and the delicate aftertaste, including the aroma of yuzu.

For the pairing, he chose a sake that is more powerful, with a long finish and umami flavor, based on the structure of the dish and the texture of the fat.
“To find the right sake that would complement the ingredients at the center of the dish, we tried contrasting, harmonizing, and pairing different types of sake, while having fun.”

The guests seemed very satisfied with their experience.
“For me, sake is the drink of the future. I have always been impressed by the precision of the production techniques,” said Lucassino. He has been studying sake for some time and has used it as a vehicle for entertaining guests with cross-cultural themed cuisine.
The guests enjoyed their encounter with sake, which is a rare treat for Italians, and enjoyed discovering new pairings.

The banquet for the guests to enjoy the exquisite combination of Italian, French, and sake came to a successful end.
The next destination is the Republic of Monaco in the south of France.
