2024 was a year in which Shichiken expanded its global reach even further. One of these opportunities was a “Round the World” tour, which involved traveling to seven cities around the world with Ducasse Paris.

Since the creation of Alain Ducasse Sparkling Sake in 2021, it has been a feted project that has brought Shichiken to Alain Ducasse restaurants around the world.
This tour also offers a special dinner with Alain Ducasse Sustainable Spirits completed in 2023.

The tour visited seven cities: Tokyo, Bangkok, Naples, Monaco, Paris, London, and New York.
The first memorable venue was BEIGE Alain Ducasse Tokyo in the heart of Ginza, Tokyo, on October 22.

On this occasion, dishes such as lightly smoked Fujinosuke (a cross between king salmon and rainbow trout), roasted Koshu Jidori chicken, and mushrooms from Hakushu Yamanomizu Farm, using ingredients from Yamanashi where Shichiken is located, as well as pear and chocolate from Le Chocolat Alain Ducasse Tokyo were served.
Sake offerings included Alain Ducasse Sparkling Sake, Sparkling Yama no Kasumi, Junmai Daiginjo Kinunoaji, Junmai Furinbisan, and Alain Ducasse Sustainable Spirits’ cocktail Cafe Cafe.

Regarding the pairing with Shichiken sake, Executive Chef Akihiko Ueoka said, “We carefully considered how to bring out the sweetness of the rice in a way that would suit the dish.” He took great care to ensure that the weight of the sake matched the food.
The one-night-only dinner was very well received by the guests.

“We received exceptional feedback from all of our guests. Serving sparkling sake as the main course made a very refreshing impression on them,” said Ueoka.
For me, as a Japanese person, sake is a part of my life and an essential element of family gatherings and the meals we have on those occasions. Alain Ducasse Sparkling Sake is a fitting bottle of sake to capture that feeling.
Refreshing, elegant Alain Ducasse Sparkling Sake with a long finish has well-balanced umami, sweetness, acidity, and bitterness. The guests discovered how well it goes with French cuisine.

The first day of the world tour ended with great success.
The next stop was Bangkok, Thailand.
